a weekend movie review....

So I watched a movie this weekend that was basically amazing. There was a lot of violence and it was a bit intense/scary for the weak movie watchers of the world... (ahem, me..) but it was actually really great! Very much recommended... so here's a little recap:

Déjà vu (2006) captures the viewer’s full attention in a crime thriller film with a science fiction twist. Denzel Washington delivers a captivating performance as an ATF agent (Doug Carlin) who travels back in time in order to prevent a ship bombing terrorist attack in New Orleans.

In the process he also falls in love with a woman who will die unless he can rescue her back in time. Meeting with a team of FBI agents, Carlin is recruited to their group, helping them find the terrorist by finding who killed Claire, the woman he is in love with. Through a scene of events, he comes to find that the FBI agents were actually brilliant scientists who found a way to look back into the past.

Carlin sees that the only way he could possibly save Claire is by getting into the past through the time warp the scientists created. The huge risk proved to be worth it when he arrived back in time, four days earlier. His work really was cut out for him at this point, as he had to find a way to not only save Claire but dodge killers in the meantime.

The events of the action film are intense, keeping the viewers craving answers to the mind boggling mystery. I would personally give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars! Highly Recommended!

Ah, Thursday..

Thursday is a beautiful day of the week. Not only do I start classes at NOON, we also start our weekend a bit early here at 96. This probably isn’t the best idea considering most of us have 3 hours of class on Friday morning, but something about Thursday is strangely irresistible.

A flashback on the last couple Thursdays…

THURSDAY the 12th… It was like a pre-pre-Valentine’s day celebration, complete with candy hearts and chocolate kisses. How can you go wrong with that?? Basically, Kortney came down as usual (our perma-visitor from apartment 100) and we talked. And laughed. And talked. And laughed... (which usually ends up with Andi J. spitting mouthwash everywhere or Savvy not quite making it to the ladies room in time). And at the usual 3 A.M. Kort and Savvy realized they both had papers due at 8 A.M. Eventually, we all picked a couch and crashed in the living room.

THURSDAY the 5th… Dave and I planned a road-trip to BYU-Idaho to visit my sister and brother-in-law... Our first-ever road trip! Since we were planning on leaving at about noon the next day, Thursday night was dedicated to grocery shopping and packing. So Andi J, Kort, and I kidnapped Dave’s car, cranked the Taylor Swift mix, and headed to Macey’s. Thank goodness for 24-hour grocery stores, right? And let me tell you, our cart was like an explosion of sugar and dozens of other treats that are harmful to our health – Perfect for road-tripping.

And of course, the night ended when morning already came.

Needless to say, we all get excited for the pointless, sleep wasting activities that occur on Friday Eve. No one knows what's going down tonight… but all I can say is TGIT!! Thank goodness it’s Thursday… :)

apartment ninety-six

Well, I've finally decided to start a blog. Quite exciting. I figure that life is exciting enough that it might as well be documented. I suppose I should begin with my list of characters - also known as the people in my life.

My Roommates: Andi J, Savvy, Bekah, Rae, Kirsten
The Boys of 87: Dave (my boyfriend), Steve, Pete, Boden

Obviously there are many more characters in this story, but this'll give us a start.

Setting: A small 6-girl apartment right off campus at BYU in the busy town of Provo, Utah... a town that literally never sleeps.

Theme: Best friends, best times, best laughs, best all-nighters and best grades... (right?)
